# Follow a super investor's last quarter

What a fund bought, added to, trimmed and sold in its latest 13F filing, with get_investor.

**Tools:** [`get_investor`](/developers/reference/get_investor), then [`get_company`](/developers/reference/get_company) for anything unfamiliar · **Calls:** 2 to 4

Funds managing more than $100 million in U.S. equities file a Form 13F with the SEC each quarter, listing their holdings. `get_investor` reads those filings for one manager: its holdings, or what changed since the quarter before.

## Ask an assistant

> Using Fundalyze, what did Berkshire Hathaway buy, add to, trim and sell in its latest 13F? Group the changes by kind, largest first, and say which quarter the filing covers.

## How the calls go

1. **Find the manager.** `get_investor` with `query` set to a name (`Berkshire Hathaway`). If several filers match, the answer is a short list of candidates with their CIK numbers; call again with the right CIK as `query`.
2. **Read the changes.** The same tool with `view` set to `changes` returns the quarter-over-quarter moves (new positions, additions, reductions and positions sold out, with the change in shares). Leave `quarter` empty for the latest filing.
3. **Look up anything unfamiliar** with `get_company`, by ticker.

The same call over REST:

```bash title="Terminal"
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $FUNDALYZE_API_KEY" \
  "https://api.fundalyze.ai/api/public/v1/get_investor?query=Berkshire%20Hathaway&view=changes&limit=25"
```

Every parameter and field is on the [get_investor reference page](/developers/reference/get_investor).

## Read it carefully

- **13F filings are late by design.** A filing is due 45 days after the quarter ends, so "the latest quarter" can be up to four and a half months old.
- **Values are as the filer reported them**, in USD. Fundalyze does not reprice holdings, so there are no market values at today's prices.
- **Long positions in U.S.-listed securities only.** Short positions, most non-U.S. holdings and cash are not in a 13F.
- **Some filers ask the SEC to keep positions confidential**, which can hide a holding for a quarter or more.
