# get_filing_summary

An existing AI summary of a company's SEC filing: sections, bullets and the quoted passages they rest on with their positions. Newest summarised 10-K/10-Q/8-K by default, or one accession; never generates a summary.

- Group: Filings
- REST: `GET https://api.fundalyze.ai/api/public/v1/get_filing_summary` with the parameters as the query string
- MCP: the `get_filing_summary` tool on `https://api.fundalyze.ai/mcp`
- HTML page: https://fundalyze.ai/developers/reference/get_filing_summary

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `ticker` (required) | string (up to 12 characters) | — | US ticker symbol, e.g. AAPL or BRK-B. Use search_companies when unsure. |
| `accession_number` | string | — | SEC accession, e.g. 0000320193-25-000079; omit for the newest summarised 10-K, 10-Q or 8-K. |

AAPL · 10-Q filed 2026-07-31 (period 2026-06-27) · accession 0000320193-26-000020 · AI-generated summary; it may contain errors. Check the filing. Model x-ai/grok-4.6, 2026-08-14.
- Apple designs, manufactures and sells iPhone, Mac, iPad, Wearables/Home/Accessories and related Services (App Store, subscriptions, etc.); fiscal Q3 2026 ended 27 Jun 2026.
- Q3 net sales $109.4bn (+16% YoY), products $78.7bn / services $30.7bn; gross margin $54.8bn; operating income $35.7bn; net income $29.8bn; diluted EPS $2.02 (vs $1.57). Nine-month sales $364.4bn (+16%), net income $101.5bn, diluted EPS $6.88.
- iPhone $54.3bn (+22%, Pro models), Mac $10.4bn (+29%, laptops), Services +12%; iPad –6%. All regions grew (Greater China/Europe +22% each); R&D jumped to $11.7bn from $8.9bn.
- Inventories nearly doubled to $11.1bn (components $7.6bn vs $2.1bn); net intangibles rose to $20.3bn from $11.1bn. Operating cash flow $117bn (9mo); $62bn buybacks + $12bn dividends; commercial paper cut to $2.0bn.
- Material risks: intensifying component shortages/cost inflation (advanced semis, NAND, DRAM) expected to pressure revenue, costs and GM (price hikes may not offset and could cut demand); evolving U.S. tariffs (Section 232 semis, 301, post-IEEPA refunds) plus retaliatory measures threaten supply chain, rare earths, pricing and consumer spend.
- Unusual: Q3 launch of Siri AI plus iOS/macOS/iPadOS 27 suite; large inventory/intangible build amid supply constraints; equity now $107.5bn after prior retained-earnings deficit.
