# get_short_interest

FINRA short interest for a stock by settlement date (twice a month), newest first: shares short, change vs the prior date, average daily volume and days to cover as FINRA reports them.

## Parameters

| `ticker` (required) | string (up to 12 characters) | — | US ticker symbol, e.g. AAPL or BRK-B. Use search_companies when unsure. |
| `periods` | integer (1–48) | 12 | Settlement dates to return, newest first, 1-48 (two a month). |
