Connect Claude Desktop and claude.ai
Add Fundalyze to Claude as a custom connector and sign in with your Fundalyze account. No API key to copy.
Claude connects to Fundalyze as a custom connector: you give Claude the server address, sign in to Fundalyze in your browser and allow read access. Claude then keeps itself signed in; you never handle a key.
Before you startLink to this section
- A Fundalyze plan or free trial, and your Fundalyze sign-in.
- A Claude plan that allows custom connectors. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.
1. Add the connectorLink to this section
In Claude Desktop or on claude.ai, open Settings, find Connectors and choose to add a custom connector. The exact menu names may differ between versions of Claude. Fill in:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Fundalyze |
| Remote MCP server URL | https://api.fundalyze.ai/mcp |
Leave any OAuth client ID and secret fields empty: Claude registers itself with Fundalyze automatically.
2. Sign in and allowLink to this section
Choose Connect. Your browser opens Fundalyze's sign-in page at app.fundalyze.ai:
- Sign in with your Fundalyze account, if you are not signed in already.
- The page says "Claude wants read access to your Fundalyze data", with the account it will use. Choose Allow.
- You are sent back to Claude, and the connector shows as connected.
Choosing Deny sends you back with nothing shared.
3. Use it in a chatLink to this section
Turn the Fundalyze connector on for the conversation (usually from the tools or connectors menu under the message box) and ask in plain words:
- "Using Fundalyze, show Apple's free cash flow and capital spending for the last five years."
- "Which members of Congress traded NVIDIA stock this year, and was it buying or selling?"
- "Summarize the latest U.S. inflation figures and when the next ones come out."
Every tool is read-only, so Claude has nothing to change on your behalf. Each answer carries a fundalyze.ai link you can open to check the figures.
What the sign-in sets upLink to this section
- Claude gets an access token that lasts an hour and a refresh token that lasts 30 days and is replaced each time it is used, so Claude stays connected while you keep using it.
- The connection reads data only (scope
read); it cannot see or change your highlights, watchlists or billing. - It has its own daily quota of 2,000 calls, separate from your API keys, and one call at a time. Its calls show under Usage in Account → API & MCP.
DisconnectLink to this section
Remove the connector in Claude, or disconnect it on our side: Account → API & MCP → Connected apps → Disconnect. Disconnecting ends the connection at once; Claude has to ask again to reconnect.
If something goes wrongLink to this section
- The sign-in page says "Connecting apps comes with every plan": the Fundalyze account has no active plan or trial. Start one, then connect again.
- Claude says the connector failed to connect: remove it and add it again, then sign in. If it keeps failing, write to hello@fundalyze.ai with the time it happened.
- Answers stop with a quota message: the connection has used its 2,000 calls for the day; they reset at 00:00 UTC.
How the sign-in works under the hood, for anyone building their own client: Authentication.
