ChatGPT can use Fundalyze in two ways: as a connector (the MCP server, signed in with OAuth) inside ChatGPT's chats, or as actions in a custom GPT you build, which call the REST API with your key.

Connector (MCP, OAuth sign-in)Link to this section

Before you startLink to this section

  • A Fundalyze plan or free trial, and your Fundalyze sign-in.
  • A ChatGPT plan that offers custom connectors, which ChatGPT currently provides through developer mode. On a workspace plan, an admin may need to allow it first.

1. Turn on developer modeLink to this section

In ChatGPT, open Settings, then the section for apps and connectors, and turn on developer mode (often under an "Advanced" heading). The exact menu names may differ, and OpenAI changes them from time to time.

2. Create the connectorLink to this section

Choose to create a new connector (or app) and fill in:

FieldValue
NameFundalyze
DescriptionSEC fundamentals, filings, trades and U.S. economic data for US-listed companies
MCP server URLhttps://api.fundalyze.ai/mcp
AuthenticationOAuth

Leave any client ID and secret fields empty: ChatGPT registers itself with Fundalyze automatically. Confirm that you trust the server, then create it.

3. Sign in and allowLink to this section

ChatGPT opens Fundalyze's sign-in page at app.fundalyze.ai. Sign in if asked, check that the page says "ChatGPT wants read access to your Fundalyze data" (the name is whatever ChatGPT registered as), and choose Allow. You land back in ChatGPT with the connector connected.

4. Use itLink to this section

In a new chat, add the Fundalyze connector from the tools menu under the message box (in developer mode it may be listed under the developer-mode option), then ask:

  • "Use Fundalyze to compare the operating margins of Microsoft, Alphabet and Meta over five years."
  • "List Apple's last five 10-K filings with links."
  • "What did FRED's latest payrolls figure show?"

All Fundalyze tools are marked read-only, so ChatGPT should not ask you to confirm each call as it does for tools that change things.

Disconnect any time from ChatGPT's settings, or on our side under Account → API & MCP → Connected apps. The connection has its own 2,000 calls a day, separate from your API keys.

Custom GPT (REST actions, API key)Link to this section

If you build a custom GPT, you can give it the REST API as actions instead:

  1. In the GPT editor, add an action and import the schema from this URL:

    https://api.fundalyze.ai/api/public/v1/openapi.json
  2. Set authentication to API key, auth type Bearer, and paste a key from Account → API & MCP.

The key is yours: anyone who uses the GPT spends your daily calls, and the Terms do not allow sharing a key. Keep such a GPT for your own use.

If something goes wrongLink to this section

  • The sign-in page says "Connecting apps comes with every plan": the Fundalyze account has no active plan or trial.
  • The connector shows an error after creation: delete it and create it again, then sign in. Check that the URL is exactly https://api.fundalyze.ai/mcp.
  • A quota message: the connection (or key) has used its 2,000 calls for the day; they reset at 00:00 UTC.
